Is It True, Not, Or Just A Crock (#12)?

It would take approximately Eight Quin-Trillion US pennies to cover the circumference of Earth or 7,970,034,765,625,000,000 pennies give or take a few hundred million.

Since the penny is circular, the corners would not cover the surface completely. Therefore, the number of pennies would have to overlap each other by their radius (as a simple approximation) to entirely cover the earth, (.008 m by .008 m). It would take a great deal more dimes since they are smaller than the penny’s.
